Austin Charles Williams, born in Texas, USA and raised in Birmingham, UK, is a Writer/Director with a background in fine art and a passion for storytelling through moving images. He studied Graphic Media Design at the London College of Communication, specializing in Moving Image, which laid the foundation for his cinematic journey.
Williams' short films have gained international recognition. Las Venas de Mi País, a poignant exploration of identity, has been showcased at prestigious festivals such as the Dresden International Film Festival (2022), Vienna Short Film Festival (2022), Florence Film Festival (2022), Marseille LGBTQ Film Festival (2023), Puerto Rico Film Festival (2023) and Puerto Rico Queer Film Festival (2024). His artistic approach, combining visual intensity with deep personal narratives, has set him apart as a rising voice in independent cinema.
In 2022, Williams completed his first feature film, La Prova, an ambitious project. His unique ability to merge fine art sensibilities with powerful cinematic expression continues to captivate audiences and mark him as an emerging talent in the film world.
Williams is currently in development with two feature films Howling at the Moon and The Bullring both exploring characters from Birmingham.
In addition to his success in the independent film scene, Williams has built a strong portfolio in commercial work, collaborating with notable brands such as Carhartt WIP, Apotheke, Ergatta, and Ophelia. These partnerships showcase his ability to blend artistry with commercial storytelling, making him a sought-after talent across both artistic and commercial realms.
He is co-founder of two musical groups Dekalb Works based in New York City and Vision Fortune based in London.
